Crime fiction deals with crimes, criminals and their motives which are only achieved by violence. This genre is generally in contrast from other mainstream fiction and genres such as the science or historical fiction; however this genre could include other interesting one such as detective genre attached within the script.

T.V. Crime Drama 'Out Of Control'
BBC ONE's wholly unprepared drama Out Of Control, won the influential Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. In this unit of 'TV crime drama' we are looking at 'Out Of Control' an improvised drama following the experiences of three teenagers sent to a young offender’s institution because of their crimes.

Dean, responsive and an intelligent teenager, who lives with his mum on an estate out of town. Dean and his mum share a close relationship with each other which is seen, when she always tries her best to ensure that Dean doesn’t end up like any other kids on the estate. However, when Dean’s friend Charlie boy is released from his latest spell inside, they both end up in a big trouble again. Dean is then arrested and is sent down to the young offenders institute, while is friend Charlie boy escapes after leaving him in trouble. Similar story with the two other boys, Sam and Danny planned a robbery on a South London estate which made them being ended up in the same young offenders for two years. Danny inside the institute wants to leave all the things related to the crime world; however Sam continues his offence in the way of bullying. Sam in the institute targets Dean, who has become weak and vulnerable. The police officer Mike tries to help Dean by keeping an eye on him as much as he can, however it ends in tragedy with Dean’s death.

NYPD Blue was an American television police crime drama which was set in New York City, and completely focused on the external and internal struggles of the fictional 15th sector of Manhattan. Each episode has an ensemble cast which is portrayed to cover a day and link other several plots together. This thrilling show was created by Steven Bochco and David Milch.
