CW1-Crime Drama Good understanding of the topic. Shows understanding of the main concepts, some analysis of institutions would have been useful. Good evidence of research some grammatical errors. Excellent DVD cover using candidates own photos. Skilfully created with some flare. Looks comparable to industry standards except poor language in blurb. High technical ability. Script interesting and follows conventions of genre.

CW2- Film Noir Good understanding of the context of film noir and how this has affected it’s aesthetic. Candidate shows an awareness of media vocabulary. No discussion on either audience or representation which would have helped the grade. Well conceived poster that is stylish and in keeping with the forms and conventions of genre. Good photoshop skills and use of own photographs. City backdrop particularly effective.

CW3-Comics Interesting commentary that documents the history of comics as well as looking at specific artists. There is good evidence of research and an account of how he tried to create his own work. More on institutions would have been useful.
Another excellent display of practical skills. Research has informed the final product which is well created, creative and accomplished. The cover of the comic is particularly effective, with the use of colour and composition. Technical details on site.

CW4- Practical Production The candidate has written an in-depth account of the whole production process. There is evidence of extensive planning research an understanding of audience and genre. There is also a good explanation of the technical skills needed to produce such an artefact. This is a thoughtful, high quality commentary that is cleverly illustrated with both video and screen captures. Appendices include planning and storyboards.
High quality video which shows creative and fine technical skills. The camerawork is excellent as is post production. Techniques including titles in motion enhance the well planned project. The theme and ideas included in the video owe a lot to the original, and the narrative suits the video well. An all round outstanding effort.
